5 ways to use Feedoor.. and more!

You may think feedoor is another normal feed management service, but according to us, feedoor represents the ultimate feed tool for all your feeds needs and here are some ways on how to use Feedoor.

1- Manage your feed:

It’s a great chance that you have a feed, and if you don’t have a feed for your online business or even personal publications then I suggest you to get one immediately. So you have a feed but you are really not a feed savvy and want another party to take care of your feed, well, feedoor can do that for you, we will display your feed in the best format, wrap it in a stylish theme, give you easy publishing tools, provide your visitors with easy subscription tools and record every hit your feed receives, by the way, it’s a good thing to know who’s visiting your feed and how many subscribers you have.

2-Manage your feed(S):

Yes, this time with the BIG “S”, it’s not only you can create many feeds, you can also combine many feeds in one, maybe you have more than one feed and want to put them all in one, this is easy with feedoor, you can merge multi feeds with different feed formats in one feed, and feedoor will do the hard job to examine your posts and arrange them according to the publishing date, wait a minute, you can also filter each feed, let’s say you want only last 5 post from feed “x” to be added, or even posts with some keyword, really,no problem.

3- Create your own single items:

Now if you don’t have a feed or your feed lack some post and you want to add that one single post, again, no problem, feedoor allows you to create single posts, just select “Item title” from the dropdown menu, write your mew item’s title and go through the wizard, Tara.. you have a new single post lying between your original feeds posts

4- Create a combination of your social feeds:

Now let’s take feedoor usage to another level, let’s say that you have many social networking accounts and want your friends to be notified with all of these activities at once, simple, create a feedoor feed and combine all your social feeds in one feed and give it away to your friends and visitors.

5- Aggregate your favorite feeds:

Combine your favorite feeds in one feed and add to your feed reader, instead of reading every feed separately. How about that?

We are happy to announce the release of the second version of feedoor, it’s the real delivery of Feedoor.

The second version has many new features for both users and developers, we will continue adding new features to feedoor but now we will concentrate on enriching the current version with applications built on top of Feedoor API and developers platform, we will add new themes, widgets and static/dynamic doors, so if you’re a developer who want to contribute in this process we will be more than happy to work with you, you can also find documents in our Developers page

For our loyal members we added many tools

New Theme System:

Members will notice the new enhanced Feed themes, the new themes system is very fixable and dynamic, you can add widgets, doors, edit stylesheet or even write your own theme

New Publishing Tools:

Spreading the word about your feed is the most important thing, putting this in mind, we developed new tools to help you doing that, such as adding new checklists and buttons, developing a banner rotator for your posts, adding new branding feature where you can brand your feed with your own domain name

Integration Tools

A new feature added to allow Feedoor members to interact with their Feedburner account, you can merege your Feedburner feeds into a Feedoor feed and also you can burn your Feedoor feed to your Feedburner account, all with a click of a button.

Yes, new features on their way the next coming days.

How this will impact your account?

No significant changes to the members area, you will not lose your way inside the members area, it’s the same easy to use members area you’re familiar with, but you will meet some new buttons for the new features.

For your Feed’s theme, a new improved theme system has been developed so you will notice a change in your feed’s theme, this new themes system allows you to edit your theme with more flexibility or creating your own theme, think of wordpress, our new themes system is pretty much like wordpress themes.

We will also move data centers, so how this will affect your Feed?

Nothing to mention, your feed will stay functional unlike members area which will go off line for some hours, all this will take place at the time of changing data centers and for some hours only as we will try our best to get things done very fast.

On the other hand, this will affect your feed positively by improving it’s performance and you can do new great things with your feed

Ok, many may ask this question and I really want all my members to be posted with all events and news about Feedoor.

And of course, in the past few months I was working to improve many features and new ones, it was a very long hours of working and still many to go through before the final second improved version is ready.

So What’s New till now?

Get ready for this

1- New API for developers

2- New themes API: every one can design his/her own theme just like popular wordpress you can also post your theme in our database so other members can use it

3- New Widgets API: themes can be dynamic and widgets will be added as you want just like wordpress widgets too

4- Static and Dynamic Doors API: based on feedburner Feedflare

5- Banner title rotator: design your own banner with your headlines the way you like

6- And the most important, all features will be fully UTF, meaning it will support all languages

Beside the new features I also fixed some bugs based on some members feedback, so thanks for every one helped by sending a feedback, we are always open to receive your comments and feedbacks.

Feed Speed

For faster feed load I made a couple of changes:

1- Omitted all javascripts from HTML version of the feed and created my own “prototype.js” hack to reduce the size and the loading time

2- Bookmark widget will open in a new window instead of loading it in the parent feed page

These changes will reduce HTTP requests plus the size of the page it self, happy faster load

WOW! I’m so excited to announce the new launch of Feedoor.com (BETA) Feed service.

After more than 4 months of the hard none stop working on this project and about one month of self testing and fixing, I finally decided to release the BETA version of Feedoor.com servic.

For those who are familiar with other feed services, you may notice some similarity with Feedburner.com service, well, I will not deny that as I really love Feedburner and greatly affected by their service, hope my site reputation will be something near feedburner

For the next few months Feedoor will stay in the BETA phase until I finally get everything running just perfectly, in the mean while I really appreciate any Feedback, suggestion, comment or even any help
